I broke the head off one of the plugs trying to remove it. Upon closer inspection, the plug looks almost like it's rusted out. Is it safe to use bolt loosener or WD40 on a stuck plug? I don't want to end up stripping in it.
If they are Iron go ahead and try some PB Blaster available at the parts store.
If they are aluminum take it to a shop. When the plug is removed it may strip the threads and the head will have to have a Heli-coil installed. With a Heli-coil you may have to go one heat range colder on the plug for that cylinder.
Thanks for using FTE!
