fuel pump question
I've noticed that when I get down below a 1/4 tank the fuel pump gets louder. I mean I can hear it get louder while inside the vehicle and driving. More often that not, when I hear this change I start having idle problems and sputtering. If above a 1/4 tank it has never happened that I'm aware of, but very soon after hitting the 1/4 mark the problems start. I'm not getting any codes for fuel problems. In fact, the last few code checks have been all passes.
Any ideas?

The fuel level is getting below the housing of the pump which causes it to get noisier and hotter because it uses the fuel surrounding it to keep cool. It will eventually fail, but keeping over 1/4 tank will help it last longer.
