Is their a easy way to make a switch like the dash dimmer switch, to hook one like that to control the idle? like maybe splice into the wires on the accelerator pedel, then when you turn the **** to the right the engine speed would go up. I already have cruse controll, but i want to use some kind of switch (****) to do faster heat ups this winter whyle truck is sitting in driveway?
What you want is an Auxiliary Idle Control, or AIC. They were an option on the trucks when built, but you can find them on eBay from time to time. There's one there now, as a matter of fact. Or, you can do as I did. I had one of the positions of my four position flip chip programmed to be a fast idle only. Whenever I switch it to that position, the idle jumps up to 1100rpm. I flip the switch to another position when I want to drive away. Painless.

I have no idea how to do that. I will check out the one on ebay, Thanks
I just built and installed one in my 1994.5 F250.When you first fire up the truck, it works great. If you leave it high idling for a while and turn the toggle switch off and then on again it raises the speed each time buy about 200rpm. If you do this a number of times, eventually turning the pot only brings the rpm down to 1100 instead of to an idle is this normal. Has anyone else had the same problem with this AIC? Is there a fix for this?
