Good luck.
I'm looking for the same thing and I don't know of any company that makes a complete box. Swap meets are your best bet. I've seen a few here but they were asking $800 - $1000 for them.

Shor bed
You guys want to know something funny??? My first full size truck was a 1979 shortbed 4x2 and the second a 1978 shortbed 4x4, which both I bought about 2 months ago...Ha ha ha ha....What a fool I was for buying something that I can't find a good bed for, oh well, two trucks for 380 is pretty cheap.... Anyways... I do know where there's a stepside shortbed. The only problem is the guy that owns it is kind of a pain in the rear. Hopefully he'll sell me the whole truck, since it's in pretty good shape yet. Best of luck to ya.

there is a good straight shortbed bed at the pick-n-pull in rocklin ca. its on a frame that once held my new crewcab cab...
