There was a posting about hard to shift rangers over on another board a couple of days ago. Someone posted back that the problem was caused by a worn shifter pivot (?) ball (?) caused by letting your hand ride on the shifter while driving.
Has anyone else ever heard of this? I was told it was due to a bad pilot bearing, but the original poster stated that he had taken the tranny out and his was good, and he replaced it anyways to still have the problem.
Anyhow the guy did not answer an email on the question, so I thought Id ask here.
