Hi, I tried this post in 80-86 f-series but no answers.
My 1986 F-150 4X4 w/302 and AOD has a very loud whine at idle in any gear or park. It increases with rpm. When driving it seems to be loudest in 1st and 2nd (it could also do it in 3rd and OD but wind and super swamper noise may be drowning it out. Trans shifts perfectly, does not slip or clunk. mileage is 208,000 KM. (125,000 miles). sound seems to be loudest at bell housing area.
Anyone know what could be causing this, should I be concerned?
Thanks.
