94 Diesel
I just bought a 1994 F250HD Diesel. It was a wholesale deal so I couldnt see what was under the hood. Diesel on the tailgate though. What could I have as far as the motor goes? 7.3 IDI, 7.3 Turbo, Powerstroker? How can I tell? First thing I will do is obviously open the hood and see if at urbo is lurking in there!

The 7.3 idi is naturally aspirated (no turbo), the 7.3 factory turbo is a modified turbo system from ATS. Both of these engines are mechanically controlled fuel systems and you will see the injection pump with the individual fuel pressure lines running to each cylinder. the power stroke is electronically controlled and you wont see the injection pump and lines. Enjoy your ride.

jvc100, in 94 you could have any of the motors you and bilder listed.
That was the only year that all 3 motors were available in the diesel line.
87shorty, the HD is Heavy Duty.
HD's had the 10.25" Sterling rear axle, F350 frames and higher GVW's.
