Tie down hook

I bought an extra tie down hook from Ford (same as ones in each bed corner) and plan to mount it in the front center of the bed. I think I may need to mount it right above where the ribs begin, just below the top panel, because the top panel seems to flex too much. My concern is if this will be strong enough for tying down dirt bikes. Has anyone done this?

I will assume you want to tie down two bikes in the bed of your truck. I have for many years used bull rite pop up tie downs for my dirt bikes. They install in the stake holes on the bed rail. You can tie two bikes down very easily with this set up. If you have an 8' bed you can install two more at the back of the truck, put a bike in backwards, close the tailgate and put three bikes in the bed. I run with the two/three bike set up on some rough roads for many miles and no problems. The pop up tie downs are about $35 per pair.

I've run those before, too, and they work great, but I want to put a tie down anchor in the middle so I don't have to weave my tie downs between the fender and tire.
