Question Front End Noise

Hello everyone! This is my first post on this very informative website and I am hoping someone in here can help me out. I am unsure which forum to stick this problem in so I stuck it in this one. I have a 1994 Ford F150 4x4 extended cab pick up with a 5.0 engine, automatic transmission, and I believe a Dana 44 front end with automatic hubs. I am currently hearing a noise as I drive down the road and it is driving me crazy (no pun intended). The noise seems to increase in pitch as the speed increases and I believe the sound is coming from the front of the vehicle somewhere. I don't think it is the transmission because the noise doesn't change as it shifts and I don't think the tires are making the noise either. I also notice when I let of the gas the noise stops and while the truck slows down, it seems to jerk as if it were in 4x4 but it is not in 4 wheel drive. I was thinking the "auto hubs" were not disengaging and I am unsure if this could happen. While looking at other post I haven't noticed anything about hubs sticking in the locked postion, they were mainly not engaging. I would appreciate any input on what could be causing this noise. Thank you!
