Got my first oil change today. While I was there I asked the service manager if I lifted my truck and put bigger tires on it, would it void my warranty? He said no. As long as I don't mess the computer. I also asked him if I change the exhaust and put Flowmasters on it would void the warranty? He said no. As long as I don't mess the computer. I also asked him about the K and N air filter. Same response. Seems to be a theme here.
You only void the warranty on the pieces that you replace. Such as the Flowmaster muffler wouldn't be covered, but the factory pipes up to the muffler would be.
yeh thats where i see the beauty in chips over programmers chips just are a stand off program u remove it the program is gone and its non detectable by a dealers computer. but anything u replace or change can void the warranty on that part like aftermarket intakes( FIPK ) will void ur intake warranty. but most places will let u keep warranty as long as u dont use programmers or do anything major or mess with the ECU/PCM
Not true. The tuners have the ability restore the stock tune to the computer and clear any codes left behind.
With chips you must clear any codes after removing the chip (disconnect the battery for 30 minutes) but there is always indication that the connector has been scraped and a chip has been put in place, unless you clean the conformal off with acetone so there are no scrape marks.
