Question Need advice about heads

I have disassembled the top end of my 2.9L in my son's 89 B2 and I am down to the heads and exhaust manifolds. I would like to know if I can remove the heads with the exhaust manifolds still bolted to the heads?

removal of heads with ex manifold

yes, yes you can. also it is the only way to reassemble. on reassembly try to put some slack in the exhaust pipes so the head will fit flat when you set it down. that trick about making head guide bolts is a very important step in the process.
