2005 Trailer brake controller
Next run the wires from the sensor to the master unit and plug in thw wire from the master unit to the trail brake harness, Mount the master unit. Put in any info about your trailer etc. and hitch up.
I have not made any adjustments to mine at ALL, but will review all info before I hookup again next spring.
Yes some fancy dan of a Lawyer or service rep may say that you have "modified" your brake system, BUT what you do what to do, stop your rig quickly and smoothly or worry about something that rarely fails, ie master cylinder or the like.
I choose the stopping part!
I have had TOO MANY people in cars (4 wheelers) pull a "fast move" in front of me causing me the jump on the brakes and HOPE I could stop. This controller has lowered my level of concern about stopping fast and smoothly.
Not all the "Blue Smoke" coming from my truck is from the exhuast, some of it goes out the drivers side window.
Besides if I can't stop and hit someone from the rear, I have bigger problems that worrying about will Ford void my warranty if I use an after market item.
I can now get off my soap box!
Thanks for listening.
I agree with what you said; I used the word "possible" as a heads-up due to the fact that Ford is looking at warranty repair costs really hard. I use a Prodigy controller that plugs directly into the under-dash connector; if it caused an electrical malfunction I'd probably be SOL warranty-wise.
