I got code 118 from my 94 ford ranger. Ooops forgot to add: 2.3 liter 5 speed manual. Base model.. no power steering or anything
Where the heck is the sensor located?? I looked where it says in the manual(driver side by firewall and on engine block below head)... but can't see anything in there.
Does ANYONE have a picture of where it is located???
Is it hard to replace??? Any help would be appreciated

Welcome to FTE!
According to my $15 Haynes manual, the ECT "is located in the water outlet pipe at the front of the engine."
This should have the 2 wire plug.
The sender for the guage in the instrument cluster is 1 wire & is located on the drivers side of the block, below the cylinder head & below the oil pressure sending unit in the head.
AL.
P.S Ferris is not in today!
Thanks .... after buying the part and searching around for a while last night, I actually found it myself.
It was actually a pain to break lose the original brass? unit. The replacement I bought from Kragen for $22 (Niehoff?) was plastic. Truck seems to be running good now.
