Mirrors
I like the extendable mirrors on my F-250 but sometimes they get in the way of things because they stick out so far, even when drawn in to the shortest position. I got to looking at them and thought it might be possible to modify the plastic extension tubes and shorten each mirror down by about an inch and a quarter on each side. That would make it much easier to pull in and out of the garage. I can't seem to figure out how to disassemble the mirror componets so as to see if it can be modified. Does anybody have any tips on the proper disassembly procedure of the mirror housing?
Also I have one mirror that has cracked the mirror on its own, it appears that it was cracked from the inside out of the mirror housing. Has anyboby else had any problems with the mirrors breaking for no apparent reason?
