headunit problem- NEED HELP -

30 days ago i got a Sony CDX-F5700 from walmart- it worked for more then 20 days - one day it just turns off i dunno why - i checked all the fuses i and the wires in the back - every thing looks good - the headunit gets power bc it takes out and takes in a cd but dosnt play and it dosnt show any display - then i tryed to put in my old one to see if is the headunit or the car - my old headunit did the same thing - no display and it didnt take in the cd but when i turned on headlights the buttons light up - so its the car ????

does anyone one know how i can fix this problem????

OH YEA!! and walmart wont exchange it for be b/c they are telling me that the S# on the head unit dosnt match the # on the BOX!!!!!!!!!
THEY SOLD IT TO ME LIKE THIS AND NOW THEY ARE TELLING ME THAT I CANT EXCHANGE IT!!!!!! they are telling me that im trying to pull something with them !! COME ON PPL!!!!!!!!

Wal-Mart always tries to get away with shi* like that. They sold my uncle pre-paid phone activated under someone elses name... I won that battle for him.

Anyways, when the buttons lit up in the old deck, did they function?

Takes CD's, lights up but no display on either radio? Check the ignition (radio) fuse and also the main power (cigarette) fuse.

When I blew a fuse, I also blew my dome lamp fuse, it was kind of easy to figure out since my dome lights didn't turn on.

You have the radio power wired to the ILLUMINATION wire from the car. This won't work.

I second mk's response, sounds like you have some wires crossed (literally).

Just another reason I hate walmart...

If you have a problem like that with Walmart try to talk to the store manager, or an assistant, and give them hell, and a big scene, unless you know the people around you.
