Bed Cover questions
It cost 512 dollars to my door.
Thanks
The pricing and deals were very confusing. I worked out what it would be, but then called for the exact price before buying. I bought over the phone. It was 512.00 that day. Total. It took about four days for UPS to deliver it, which is very good where we live. It sometimes takes 5 days for UPS to deliver from 50 miles away. We are in a strange location.
I have seen some negative posts about the company truckaddons.com and I do respect peoples experiences. But I was satisfied with them.<O

>They do require that you wait something like ten days before requesting a tracking number. That sucks, but their reasons are valid. They don't actually ship the stuff, it's drop shipped from the vendor. They would have to pay extra for the tracking numbers. And as any businessman knows, extra expenses are extra to the customer.

>I like the top after real world use. So does my wife. Down side to it is that the key to the locks, (same key front and rear) doesn’t go on your key ring. If you open the panel and let it lay on it’s neighbor panel, your key ring would scratch the paint. So I carry the key loose in the cab. At last, a use for the rubber tray. I only use the key for the front, right behind the cab lock. I lock the tailgate with the trucks key so when I want to open the rear panel or panels I open the tailgate, reach up and pull on the locking rod. Super easy to do. Then I fold up the back three panels if I want to. For shopping you don’t bother with opening the tonneau, just open the tailgate and toss things in. I did use a 25 dollar cargo bar set about 6 inches high behind the rear wheel wells. Keeps us from chasing can goods after a hard stop. The bar releases in a second if you need the whole bed.
And black seems to be a good color. I drove my neighbors 2003, the same color as my 2004, with a fiberglass hard tonneau. I was surprised at the glare coming off the rear deck. Of course, we live in the desert, your conditions may vary.

I was going to make a crack about 'since it only rains here once or twice a year it will take awhile to get back to you.' Of course it started raining today...
Just a light rain, made everything wet and the pavement slick. Just waxed the truck of course.
No water inside. I got my wife to lay down in it and I shut it up. (Insert your favorite spouse joke here). She couldn't see daylight anywhere, but I think that if it was a soaking rain, water might get in somewhere. A fiberglass lid would be much better if you live in the rain forest of Oregon. Here, even if it rains hard it usually ends fairly soon.
Seriously, I don't think I would store my collection of Astounding pulps under the tonneau, but I would carry groceries or tools in most rain storms without a lot of fear.

....You got a great deal.
Ford Trucks for Ford Truck Enthusiasts
Have you checked Ebay lately? I stopped checking for tonneaus after I got mine, but there were some good deal sometimes.<O
If you private message me I can supply you the invoice number on mine, to use as leverage on the pricing. Might help.
Also, alternatively I thought about
http://www.peragon.com/<O

>as a possibility. I think it looks better but there are some downsides<O

>www.geocities.com/peragon_cover_review/index.html <O

>is a real hit piece on the Peragon. I think it's about as accurate as any attack article, but if you read it carefully you can see through the writers attitude and I don't think it would be a terrible choice. Note the loss of space at the front, and that it takes a strong arm to bring it out of closed
Best of Luck,
Chris
Draw you own conclusions, but it is nice to have both sides.

This is for a 6.5 foot new model.
Someone's lying, or just ignorant.
Still sounds like you got a fairly good price anyway.
