did ford ever use the np205 and the high pinion dana 60 frontend in the same truck. im lookin for info on building a pulling truck and ewas just curious if i can find a whole truck instead of having to piece one together
they used the np205 in 73-79 Ford trucks but i dunno if it was in the 1 tons; which had the D60 up front. I know they threw them in the 3/4's!
also remember to stay away from the 74-75.5 Ford low pinion D60.

so d60s after 76 are all high pinion. when did they go to ball joints? even though i dont think they would be a disadvantage for me though because i would run 33s maxx with a 520 pushin 800 hp
they stopped live axle 60's when the 80 model year came outl. some wheres around 85 they went back to a king pin 60 in the front of the f-350's towards 90 they went to ball joints.
fordman, i see your in pa, im from right outside of pittsburgh. unfortunately the gas prices have gotten to me and i'm going to be forced to sell my truck. i really hate to do it, but i can't even afford to put gas in my 4cylinder sonoma anymore. check my profile for some pictures, its got a 205 and a d60 up front. would probably make an excellent pulling truck. send me an email or a personal message if you might be interested. i've got alot of time and money into this thing, and i hate to get rid of it.
What are you smoking and can I have some!? You wouldn't happen to be saying that the pre-1977.5 Dana 60 fronts "are the best" because you are selling one are you? That has to be the one of the most ridiculous statements I've heard in a loooong time. The pre 1977.5 Ford Dana 60 fronts are pathetic. Only a tad stronger than a Dana 44 and not even remotely comparable to a 1977.5 and later Ford front Dana 60. To illustrate this more clearly, here is a picture of the early Ford 60 Dana axle sitting next to the latter Ford 60 Dana axle.
"Best Henry ever did!? Try weakest. I don't know if you are simply ignorant on this topic, or purposely being misleading to help sell you axle. If its the latter that is decidely uncool and exactly what we don't need/won't tolerate

You're right, a 1979 Snowfighter IS one of the best trucks to ever roll out of the factory. However, if you don't want to be misunderstood you shouldn't respond to this:

I'm glad to see you weren't trying to mislead anybody, however. Ball busting retracted.
