f-500 compatability

I was just wondering if the cab on a 53-56(not sure exactly) f-500 is the same as a f-100. I have wanted a f-100 for a long time and just turned out that one lady we rent farmland from has a f-500 in mint shape no dents dings or rust at all. SO I was wondering if the cab is the same cause then i would just need a rolling chassis and a box right? Thought i would post here you guys seem to now your stuff. any help would be greatly appreciated

Yea, they are the same. The cab, doors, and hood are the same as f100. The fenders on F500 will fit, however the wheel opening may be larger.

Ya the fender opening did look pretty big. So if i get new fenders for a f-100 they will fit on there no problem?

Front fenders, inner fenders and running boards are different. However all sheet metal is interchangable 53-5. 56 is a different cab and Im not sure what interchanges with the other years.

One problem you will have is the VIN plate is on the inside glovebox door and that will be for a F500. So you will need a F100 frame that the VIN is readable or buy a correct glovebox door/tag.

You will have to check with your state for that. If you can find a F100 VIN plate you can then use that. Otherwise most states will issue you a new or salvage title and use their own VIN sequence.
Some states are a royal PITA; then you have to get creative.

If you find you don't need the fenders, I could sure use them for my 55' f-600. let me know how much and we could make a deal! Thanks!
