I posted about this before. I belive there is a leak in the vacuum because there is a whisle most of the time when I don't have my foot on the gas. Someone mentioned that it might be the alternator but I recently replaced that so it wasn't that. Also it has a uneven idle most times and I know that is something with the vacuum also. Just wondering what is an easy way to find the leak? Any tricks? Any thoughts? Please help.
If you think it might be an intake gasket or something, somtimes you can spray carb cleaner around the edges of it or the base of the carb and see if the idle changes. The best think to do might be get a stethascope and track down the noise. If it is whistling then it should be pretty easy to find. Also you might make sure the vacuum lines are attached to the air cleaner properly.
If you had any work done on the upper part of your engine then the vacuum lines might be melted. You should have three plastic vacuum lines that run along your fuel rail, passenger side, under your upper intake manafold. They are wraped in a 1/2 black plastic tube.Colors are Black, pink and black which run to three silinoids on the drivers side of your valve cover. I dont think you have a check engine light. Check for trouble codes it may help. How to check for trouble codes go to www.fordfuelinjection.com then go to getting codes. Careful with your jumper wires so they dont touch metal.
