Over Drive Light Blinks
I have a 99 EB Explorer with 135,500+. My problem is that me OD lights starts blinking on its own, and I notice that the gears won't shift into overdrive. Once I restart my Explorer, the blinking OD light goes away. I have also noticed that it will come on a lot more while driving through the city than on the highway. Has anyone experienced this, and if so what was the solution.

Sorry to say, but that was the beginning of the end for my '99's tranny. It did that for about a month before my tranny completely decided to go bad. Luckily it was still covered by the extended warranty and only cost me $100 for a brand new one.

Thanks for all the help everyone has offered. I think I will take me EB to the dealer and have the codes read. This is the first major problem that I have had since I purchased my EB 5 years ago brand new with this many miles on it. But I have pampered her from day one, and she runs like a beast.
