302 questions.

Are there any physical differences between the 302 HO mustang engine and the 302 truck engine?

Externally, no. Internally, yes - the cam is different, different distributor gear for the roller cam, roller lifters, forged pistons (89-92), and the firing order is different.

I'm fixing on purchasing a bare 302 block. On a website they sale bare blocks of various ford engines. The 302 HO engine block is new and doesn't require any machining or any of that. So does that mean a the truck cam can't be put into a bare 302 HO block?

You can put any cam you want in it. You just have to use the correct firing order for the cam, the correct lifters for the cam, and the correct distributor gear. later
