O2 Sensor/Oxygen Sensor?? Help (Laughing)

O2 Sensor/Oxygen Sensor?? Help (Laughing)
(1991 3.0L XLT, Standard cab, 2 wheel drive/5-speed Manual)
I am trying to locate the 02 Sensor or Oxygen Sensor. I am thinking that is causing my truck to run rough and get poor gas consumption as well as causing the idle to run a bit high at times or low at some times. I have done a complete tune up with the correct plugs, wires, air filter, dustributer cap and rotor. I do note a smell from the tail pipe in which those emission control inspectors can tell that you will fail the emissions before they even hook it up. If that helps at all in you folks providing your advise.
