The engine should be Timed anywhere from 8-12 degrees before top dead center.
if you don't have the firing order its 1-3-7-2-6-5-4-8.
thanks, seems if i use retard it more than 14 degrees btc it runs a lot better tho. i hve build this engine using lots of aftermarket parts, pistons, heads, cam and lifters etc, maybe this is the difference?
Hm, whats the compression on this monster? You may have to pull some timing out of it to get it started. But with the timing that far retarded the engine shouldn't even run.
Hope you get it fixed, it sounds like a beast. Good luck to ya!
The Compression Ratio Is Supposed To Be Very Close To 9.5/1. It Starts Really Well. Runs Quite Smoth, Except It Has A Bog When I Tromp On The Gas, Its Been A Real Trial Getting The Thing To This Stage, Last Night I Took It Out To Road Test It And Other Than The Bog Off The Line It Hauls Compared To The Efi 302 That Was In The Truck, Now If I Can Get The "baunmanator Tcs" Unit To Work Correctly I'd Have This Puppy Wrapped Up For This Year At Least. Thanks Again.
