85 diesel problems

85 diesel problems
We had a '90 250 with a 7.3 until it did a run off in the drive.
Just got a '85 250 with the 6.? and am having to relearn glowplug controls units. The '85 had 48,000 first trip hauling the tranny went out. The steering colume got exceptional hot (from the turbo?) the brake light & turn signals went and the emergancy flasher melted itself on.
Yesterday, the glow plug wait light would not come on and neither would the truck.
Hope I can find some help here.
Where is the fusable link from the ignition?
Where are thete latch & the after glow controlers located?

On my 84 E350, the glow plug controller is on the rear of the left head, and the relay is in front of the left battery, left of the radiator, the fusible link is there also. when my controller went bad, I installed a momentary push button, see diagram:
