built 351W power

Could I get several estimates on the power of this build? I estimated 340 HP and at least 375 ft/lbs of torque (@ the crank). Does this sound like I'm guessing to high?

The specs are as followed:

351 windsor 2 bolt block (bored .030 over-now 357.29 cubic inches)
rebuilt and reworked heads with 1.94/1.55 intake/exhaust valves
edelbrock cam and lifters(280 degree duration, .448/.472 lift LCA=107 LS=112
Edelbrock performer intake manifold
Edelbrock 4 bbl 1406 carburetor (flows about 620 cfm)
1" open plastic carb spacer
14"X3" K&N air filter with substack
Hooker full length competition headers
dual 2.5" 40's series mufflers (no cats, no EGR, and no smog pump)
2.5" H pipe

I am not sure of the output of this setup, give me your best guess of the power at the crank, it will be greatly appreciated.(I don't have the resources for dyno time)

I am gonna guess....280hp and 340tq...with minimal port work on the stock heads.

If at all possible you might consider going with another camshaft, comp and crane have newer camshafts that can give you more hp/torque and vacuum than that camshaft.

If you have to have the performer grind, you might wanna contact paw performance and use one of their cams, they have a grind that is identical to the performer, $50 for the cam and $40 for the lifters...It is my understanding that it is the same camshaft...using a generic name.

who knows? Good luck

I bet you could get more power out of a holley carb then those edelcraps.
Of coarse thats just my opinion. I would deffinetly go for porting and polishing the heads.

your running some of the same stuff i run erformer rpm cam ,performer rpm aluminum heads the intake and exhaust valve size 2.020 /1.600, holley 750 , acuetune geardrive, roller rockers, performer rpm intake,2in spacer for carb, billet crank,1-3/4in shortyheaders to a 3in colletor ,h-pipe 3in,flowmaster,compression 10:1, msd 6al box,msd distrib,34 total timming,no ac no ps no smog pump, 2-1/2 cowlhood. in a 85 foxbody 3-door /t-5 trans /8.8rearend right now running 2.73 gears getting over 400hp /412ft/lbs.so i would say that you should be in the 300 range noprob

Thanks, that's what I wanted to hear. How much of a power gain could be realized by running the full length headers with turndowns on them? (Where I live I can probably get away with it for a while...I guess....worth a try) I figured this would show a gain in the top end, but low end would be reduced substantially.

You'll be able to pull about 10% more power by using the full length headers. There are fewer angles for the scavenged air to have to work around. Also, if I were you I'd concider the performer air gap manifold. It will keep the mix cooler, denser, and help combustion. For big HP in the 300 and above range you'll want to think about a supercharger or turbo. I would definately go for the Holley 4 brl 750. Also, i agree with JWtaylor, comp and crane both specialize in cams, thus, they may have some more potent grinds. Other than that, you're lookin' good. With your current specs you should see about 285.
Best of luck in your build!
