tail light swappability

Will the tailights out of an '01 ranger fit into a '97? I'm not worried about wiring concerns due to the amber and white being in different locations, just the physical fit. They look the same size, I prefer the rounded lenses with the bulge in each color from the new lights as opposed to the flat as a board 97 lights.

Boxes are the same 93-03. Tail lights have to fit the box opening.

The 01 lights are a 2 bulb setup, yours are 3. You can cut the third hole in the 01 light.

Thanks for the answers. Now i just have to find some tail lights. I doubt the neighbor's kid would miss the ones out of his '01 that i was using as a comparison.

The '99 Ranger lights are the same "shape" as the '01 lights, but the '99s are also three-bulb like yours. That might be an easier swap.
