shifting problems please help!!
I've a 1994 ford explorer. For about the past week shifting has been a nightmare. It started out....when I'd idle and try to put it in reverse, it would just grind away. I would have to slam it into reverse. Then it started getting hard to shift into first from idle. So I would have to start out in second. Shifting while driving wasnt hard at all. I discovered that if i pumped the clutch enough, I could get it to slip into first or reverse with almost no problems - from idle. If I start my truck up in first, without pumping on the clutch first, it wants to take off forward. Same thing in reverse. It has started to get difficult shifting into any gear while I'm driving.
Puhlease tell me there's a simple solution to this and that it wont take alot of work....single mom here...no money...cant live without truck....
