I'll try again--'86 Bronco2 Engine surging

Got an '86 Bronco2 with 2.9L V6. It will sit and idle or run along good then suddenly start acting up RPM will drop, engine will start to miss, then just as suddenly, it'll pick up again & act fine--any ideas ??

sounds like a problem i had with my f-150 5.0
finally found out that it was the o2 sensor.

check for a leaking, bad seal, gasket...etc. My tank seal was bad in my 86 and was causing a surge while ideling...

Especially on an '86 that doesn't have a check engine light, the best first step is to pull any codes from the computer. Ken00's tech info post has info on doing this. Requires nothing more than a paper clip and a voltmeter/test light.
