Predator Problems

I received my predator tuner last week and installed the 65 HP program and everything went well. Then this morning I plugged in the Predator to pull my diagnostic codes and nothing will come up. The screen stays blank like it is not receiving any power.

Has anyone else experienced similar problems?

I called Motorhaven and they are shipping out a new one, in a few days when they get them in, but just in case I don't want to risk not being able to return the stock tune.

I have not had this problem. If you need to return your truck back to its original "stock" mode, I guess you will have to remove the batteries for a period of time.

Anyone know of another way to "reset" your truck if the predator fails? (I have my original backed up on my laptop)

NO....
the "tune" in the truck is in non volitale memory,
so disconnecting the batteries will not change the tune....

if your predator goes south, you'd be outta luck....

course that would happen with ANY electronic device that you have only one of....

like tv's or radios or air conditioners or Superchips or Edge Attitudes or Quads or .......

so then how would you get the original stock tune back in the truck if the predator failed?

It seems that you would have problems with warranty work if you could not remove the "program".

I thought that the predator only modified a few parameters of the stock tune. Seems that there should be a way to return back to stock.

You can save your original tune to your PC or laptop. I have done it and so has Bob. It is not a very large file. I think you could send it to Diablo and have them reload it into your Predator. If you sent them your Predator that doesn't work, they might be abloe to recover your original tune.

You need to buy a DB9 interface cable and a power source. Go to diablosport.com and download the interface software and you should be good to go.

Diablo's web page outlines all of this in a little more detail.

If you do, you need to have your computer, the dowload program, and the Predator all set for the same transfer speed or it won't work. Read the instructions carefully and folllow them exactly and it will work.
