Heavier springs for the F-250LD

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I have an 84 F250LD and need more leafs on the rear. Currently it has 3 leafs then the straight "overload" helper spring. My 7800# trailer squat the rear pretty bad even with the torsion bars in the equilizer hitch. Don't want to put any more tension on the torsion bars, traction problems.

Would springs from a heavy duty F250 fit? Is this advisable? If so, what years?

yep they will fit, any year from 80 to 97, the newer the better, cause less wear on the newer ones generally.

you could always build yourself a new spring pack, or add to your current pack. try to get thicker springs because a smaller amount of thicker springs will ride nicer and hold more weight then a large amount of thinner springs

Adding leaves to your current spring pack will help out, but then your truck is going to ride like a tank, i thought about doing this to my 81 mudder, but then i rode in a truck with this done to it and it changed my mind quite quickly.

As long as you keep in mind that all the springs in the world won't change the capacity of the rear axle bearings I would recommend you condsider adding airbags to the existing suspension. The infinite adjustability could give you the rearend lift when you need it and a decent ride when you don't.
