Is it true just because you have a pryo gauge installed on your truck. The dealer thinks you have a tuner or box installed too? I am curious about it. I have a pryo gauge should I be worried?
Run a search for "pyro" and you'll come across a few others that have had the same concerns as you. In some experiences people's dealers have presumed so, in other's they could care less.
Bottom line, you're interested in warranty repairs........ again, some dealers could care less whether you have gauges and/or tuners etc. If you truely only have gauges for monitoring purposes then there should be no issue with it. The truck did not come with one and you thought it necessary for your driving conditions.
Same can be said of aftermarket water temp and oil pressure gauges. Not everybody can live with the OEM "dummy" gauges.
And the problem is how do you know which dealer is "performance friendly" and which are not? This is the only reason I have not installed the pillar 3 "gage" (ford spelling) system to my truck.

I would'nt be worried..
Who knows what they think, but, would probably depend on why it was at the dealer to begin with..
If I see a 6.0 in the lot with gauges, exhaust ect., thats the first thing I'd think..
Whats he/she got here!?!?!
Our local gang hasn't even taken a second look at mine..
With gauges only, how can any manufacturer fault you for not only protecting your investment, but THEIRS as well. Unless the add ons can actually make for a 'running change' and/or cause a possible failure from the install.. Could it cause them to look closer in the event of problem.. Could.. But if your 'truely' running in stock profile, and a partial or complete tare down of a 'problem' engine (think thats where this topic will go) revealed no signs of extra fueling/timing they'd have no grounds for a warranty denial..
If they had 'zero' proof that gauges caused a problem.. That would be a fight I'd like to be in..
I had a 3 "gage" pillar mount on my '02 so everytime I took it to the dealer for issues he made a point to tell me that they flashed my computer to update it. I finally made it clear I did not have a chip (I had a superchip tuner that I returned to stock for visits) so they stopped their little game.
One way to tell if a dealer is performance friendly, is to see if they have an "aftermarket" products sales rep. See if they sell chips. The dealer I use has one. Then ask about warranty. After finding out they sell chips, I went to the service manager and asked him his opinion on it. I imagine it varies from dealer to dealer. The dealer I use, I am happy with. Some of the stories I have heard here about service departments convinced me that a lot of user dissatisfaction is the result of bad dealer service departments.
In simple terms don't let the dealership tell YOU what will and willnot void the warrenty. I had plenty of issues with Ford with my Lightning and the dealership will try and tell you what ever they can get away with. Quote from one of the Service managers hear by me. "Dat Der K&N will void your warrenty, make sure you take it off before you bring it in next time."
Plain and simple if your MOD doesn't directly cause the warrenty repair they can't void your warrenty or sevice for any reason. Remember the squeaky wheel gets the oil when it comes to factory service.
Does anyone out there have the guage pod that inserts into the instrument cluster? I see ads for them, and think of them as practical, but I am afraid they will block the other guages pretty bad. I'd love to see a pic if anyone has one, or another good idea. I like the handle on the A pillar, and was hoping not to remove it
I have the X-Monitor. It is a digital gauge that includes pyro, boost, and tranny temp all in one compact unit that mounts on the A-pillar and does not require removal of the handle.
