Fuel pump relay
Long time problem. I have low (3 volts on two terminals, 10 on one) or no power when testing across terminals that fuel pump relay plug into. What do I need to check to get this relay to work. Funny as it sounds, but if I bang on the fuel tank sometimes the daarn thing will start.

Oh yeah! Replaced relays, and have kept some Chinese village afloat! I have replaced the relay, the fuel pressure regulator, and the fuel pump. (I have a certain fondness for Ford engineers right now!) I tweaked a relay by weakening the spring on the "gate" that the coil draws in. It works now because it requires less voltage to engage the relay. What I need to know (anybody with a Ford tech manual?) is, what is the voltage required to activate that relay and where would I search for a low voltage problem. Good luck..................
