Aloha you Ford lovers, I have a question for you. I just got back from the rat race (Honolulu). Put yourself in my shoes...I'm size 11, lol. I found this awesome knife a Hibben Claw II w/black Micarta handle, [http://www.knifecenter.com/knifecenter/fantasy/hibben.html] in the car I rented. Would you return it to the owner or not? My wife said to return it, but I wanted to see how many people on this forum would. Majority rules.
I would keep it... My saying is, If they cant manage their stuff, I will besides if its a rented car who knows who it belongs to, could have been the last renter or the one before them, or the one before them.....
Call the rental car company, and ask if anyone has reported one missing. Leave them your phone number, but don't describe the knife except tell them it's black. If you don't hear from them in a couple of weeks, consider it yours. I wouldn't just give it to them, or the lot-boy will wind up owning it.

MR
Ill gotten gains will eat at you, even though someone had the mis-fortune of leaving it behind. if it was yours to begin with wouldn't you want to be contacted when you lost it. IMHO
I've never been contacted when I lost something, especialy if it was something that someone else would want... so I personaly wouldn't give it a second thought after keeping it.

It's amazing what you can find in rental cars. My uncle got a flat in a rental car one time and when he took the spare out of the trunk he found a .357 magnum. He ended up taking the gun back to the rental car place, there was no way to know if the gun was "hot" or if someone had been shot with it.
