i have a 96 bronco i would like to beef up the rear end it has an 8.8 with a locker and would like to convert to a soild up front i'm running 38 super swampers and the axels just can't take it i'm thinking a dana 60 in front and dana 70 outback any suggestion on how to do this and if theres any conversion kits out there and any suggestions on what type of axles to use
Welcome to FTE demonspeeding. I know it has been discussed before. You should use our search function, and search for 'SAS', or 'solid axle'. Good luck with your swap.
you can get a d61 out of a van that has the tone ring sensor in it, but no 60's came with one. you can adapt one in, but that requires some special tools and skills.
A sterling rear is an easy swap.
A 60 front swap requires a lot of work, but so does a 44 for that matter. wether coils or leaves, there is welding and fabbing required. Like as mentioned, there is lots of stuff on FSB as they have a whole section devoted to SAS'. Also, wt4x.com a good write up done by my buddies mark and dave.
