i am getting ready to paint my engine and just wanted to see what the color scheme was for the 223 in 1960.
I have seen it with orange vavle cover and the rest black, as well as the block, head, valves, intake amd exhaust orange the the starter, gen, horn, ect... semi gloss-black.
Block head=gloss black, valve cover = ford red. generator, starter etc =gloss/semi(whatever floats your boat) and the intake= black with the exhaust manifold =cast iron color. -4speed
I've got a thread on the y-block forum about colors. I didn't dig for a 223 I6, but I'd like to know for sure anyway. Andrew - do you have any color photos of a correct I6 painted up?
