Performance carbs? and headers?

Performance carbs? and headers?
I need a performance 4 barrel carb for my 400 ci ford engine. any ideas of what i can get. Anything else that would boost my low end.

You are in luck and for two reasons: 1) This topic has been discussed quite a bit around here. 2) These engines are easy to get improved performance out of. First, you will need a new intake manifold. Many have had success with I would with the Edelbrock or Weiand manifolds. I don't think you can go wrong with either. As far as carbs go, an Edelbrock carb that flows about 600-650 cfm would do nicely. Some run Holleys but it seems to me that Edelbrocks run better than Holleys on these engines. They sure are easier to tune any way. The best way to get a better idea is to do a search. You will instantly have enough information to last you a week. Good luck.

1 guy say's edelbrock and the other say's weiand. A performer work's real good on a 400, I would also try an edelbrock carb around 650 CFM. I am getting kind of disgusted with the performance of the holley's I have.
