Explorer Tailgate

I was wondering how do you take the plastic pannel off the inside of the tailgate .... Do you just pop it off or is there another way because I don't want to break anything by trying to force it off....

There are plastic rivet-like binders that Ford uses holding it in place. My understanding is that there is a tool you can buy from any auto supply store that allows you to more easily pop these off. If not, you can take your chances with a screwdriver. It takes a little work, but they just pop out and hopefully without being damaged. Hopefully, you can reinstall them, otherwise, it would be a relatively inexpensive item from the dealer for a set of additional rivets.

I hope the comments help.

be careful, 94 and earlier have screws at the top and at the lock **** under the trim panel and have push pins to pop out. 95 and later have the screws and the slide up to come off no push pins.
