Transmission troubles...
My 92 f-150, 4.9, E4OD, 261Kmiles is having problems. The transmission engages,(easily felt) but the truck doesn't move much. There is a "buzzing" noise from the trans, that changes pitch with rpm's. Filter and fluid have been changed with no improvement. Suggestions?

It's probably one of the many friction clutches or bands that are used to engage the gears. You are probably looking at a rebuild or replacement. Shop around and find a good transmission shop that can look at it and give a good diagnosis. You have quite a few miles on that transmission so its not uncommon for it to need a rebuild.

Thanks, but before my poor old beast goes to a shop, I'll get a replacement trans from a boneyard. I was kind of hoping that someone had similar problem and could steer me in a specific direction such as torque converter, solenoids, pump...
