So the time is comin for me to paint my flair, anyway aside from the new doors, front fenders and hood (i have everything but the fender and i will get fiberglass cause i don't want rust in 5 years) as well as cab corners, i need some help in choosin a colour for it. Now i was able to get some help over at stangnet.com from a guy with some good photo shop skills and i was able to see it in candy aple red with 2 black GT style stripes down the centre following the lines of a cowl hood i'm looking into. Anyway i'm to get an idea of what colour to paint my flare, and i would like to hear your ideas and also pictures of other examples if you have some. Also keep in mind that the interior is red and i want it to match the exterior.
Here is a picture of the truck as is (its black with a very stong gold flake/pearl):
And here's the truck with the candy apple red, cowl hood, and black GT style stripes.
The red is nice but since the interior is also red it will need to be a very good match. I'm not a big fan of red on red but that is just my preference.
I like the black and the new hood. How about a silver stripe over the black?
Actually that red i would pick is the factory ford candy apple red that the came on these trucks, i thought about the silver stripe on black but i wanted something to make it stick out and i have always liked that colour of red. Maybe the red stripe on black? I go see if that same guy can reverse the colours for me, i'll post pictures of the red on black to in a day or to.
I think the red with the black stripe looks sharp and is a looker when you are going for your ridein....black on a whole looks nice but is very hot in summer and bugs an dirt likes to stick to it too easy ....to notice

Agreed......plus the red will be a nice change from what you are used to.....
Yeah, I have to agree that the red with black stripe is striking and totally different from tuxedo black. Given the interior is not solid red I am inclined to agree that the first picture Red/Black stripe is a winner.
The current paint is acctually a true black, it has a very very strong gold flake to it and at the right angles the whole truck looks gold. But the truck will not stay clean, its like a magnet for dust and living on a farm i can't keep it clean. But i think i will go with the red with black along with that hood as well as some fiberglass front fenders (to prevent rust cause wher e i live we use a lot of road salt) But anyway the interios is pretty well half black half red)
Thanks for all the input on this, i have finally saved up enough to get this done so a few months and i should have it completed, but now i have to get it running again cause something in the distbutor broke, oh well, but thanks again.
Just out of curiosity how much is it going to cost you? For my whole truck to get painted and the body work done was going to cost $4300 CANADIAN. You? (If you don't mind me asking....)
I could of got it done for just the price of materials, cause i had a buddy that said he would do with me and he is a very good in this type of thing (painting and body work) but he moved away and is joining the U.S. armed forces at the end of the month. I haven't really fully checked everything out but i know that the hood, fenders, doors, fix the wood bed (replace with a solid sheet of the stuff they use to make road signs then use aluminum diamond plate on top of that) is going to cost about 1300-1500 canadian, after that i know that a local body shop charges 2 grand to just spray the truck without any body work (they are high but do very good work) but i am shopping around right now and i think i will be able to get the body work and the paint for around 2500, so its probably going to cost me about 4 grand, but i plan on disassembling the truck before i take to get paint so that should save me some money, but i might also shave the door handles and finding so better mirrors. So its probably going to cost between 35 hundred and 4 grand.
