U-Joint
How do you check the rear U-Joint? On my '98 5-spd I sometimes hear a howling noise coming from under the truck. Depending on how I let off the clutch seems to make difference if it happens or not. Would something with the clutch or tranny make a noise like that?

to check u-jount block wheels put truck out of gear get under truck an try to move drive shaft up-down sideways try to turn right left to see if ther is any play in jount if ther is replace u-jount. it could also be bad throu out baring in clutch assimbly couseing the howling sound
