Question Help with a couple problems

I have a 2001 F-250 FX4 extended cab. I bought it used and it only had 24,000 miles on it. I have had it about 7 months and love it, however, one thing that really bothers me is the way it shifts. It is an automatic transmission with a 5.4 engine. If I am going through town or a slower speed zone and have to slow down, when I hit the gas to speed back up the tach jumps to about 2500-2800 and then shifts like it forgot or doesn't know what gear to be in. There are no noises from the transmission and it doesn't slip. I was just wondereing if this is a normal shift pattern or did the previous owner reprogram the computer to shift this way for towing purposes or is this the beginning of a problem.

Its very normal, its just jumping down a few gears to get those RPM's up and thus more power. Dont worry about it.

Thanks for the reply FORD352V8. I was just curious is all since the truck I drove for 10 years before this one was a standard 4 cylinder ranger. Guess I am just not used to the power yet.

weird shifting

if it bothers you, like it bothers me! just press the overdrive button when driving around town, when you really dont need it!
