More On Changing ATF
When I called them up to ship two cases to my residence, it didn't seem they were prepared for phone orders nor shipping, but we got past that and I made clear that I was interested in their $29.99 a case of 12 quart pricing and promptly explained I would like two cases.
They agreed to the sale and shipped the two cases to my residence in Virginia Beach - that's where the trouble began.
I got the invoice out to reveal that they charged me $41 per case, $6.xx in TAX (they're in N.C. - I'm in Va.) ...what I was comfortable with was the $19 in shipping charges...do the math though - $107.xx!!
I called them to ask what was going on and the guy helping me said they must've made a mistake and would look into it...I later received a voicemail explaining that the website pricing was THEIR COST - and that they would correct the billing to $34.95 a case and no state tax.
OK, so that's a partial resolution that I can live with, but it took TWO phone calls to get things straight...which was a bit irritating.
The cost did workout to less than $4 a quart, but I can get it at my local Dealership for less than $4 a quart as well - so...next time I'll take the path of least resistance!
FWIW, I have been able to source ALL of the filters, except for the transmission spin-on filter at Autozone here locally. The oil filter and both fuel filters are available from them, they are Motorcraft products at a fraction of the cost when compared to dealership prices - which is nice, considering that I have now spent a small fortune maintaining this pig!
Oh well, unless there's better advice than the Fordzilla article that Tim highlighted - guess I'll be getting back to you in regards to how my transmission FLUSH went...I'm guessing it might get messy?
