73-79 Door shell Questions

I have a small body shop and occasionally I have to use aftermarket parts- some fit excellent- some don't. I also have a 1976 f100 that I have had since 1985 it is in excellent shape and kept indoors here in the south, but the inside of my passenger door-where the inner meets the skin is rusting. Dunno why, but its is, trying to find another door that isn't rusted the same is hard. LMC and others like Keystone have Replacement shells. Have any of you ever used them and how did they fit and please specify which brand or manufactor. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks a bunch! Rob

Maybe check with our sponsor sites.

I know Motorhaven used to have quality sheet metal.

Dennis Carpenter Reproductions has NOS and reproduction parts made
from the original ford tooling. I just got some coil spring insulators
for my 79 f150 4x4 and they look exactly like the originals.

he doesn't have doors in the newest catalog, just some repair panels, but I appreciate the response. I have checked with some of the sponsers but I was wanting feedback from an end user before I spent my $, the vendors are telling me theirs fit perfect.............imagine that! Anyway if no one answers that has first hand experience,I'll post what I find when I buy a door shell. thanks!

even a door that'll fit my truck, won't nessarly fit yours that well, the different dies from different plants/years have some varriances in them. i know door off of different trucks won't always line up...

good luck

I have gotten good and bad doors from various suppliers. somebody is selling OEM doors, but I dont remember who it is right now.

I'm thinking of morgaging my house to partner up/invest with a company that is considering making new cabs, beds and core supports.

with frames coming a few years later, one would be able to build a 73-79 truck from scratch without any ford parts.

a company in no. carolina is making steel 69 camaros, and 67 mustangs are in the works.(also 69 mach 1, and 70 cudas)

replacement bodies are going to be more common, I think new 73-79 regular and super cabs would sell in the east and mid-west. I guess we'll see...
