Question

timing chain install

Never installed one before. Engine is back together. Its a 351m 77 or 78. Wont start prety sure I have the distributer in correctly and timed at 8 btdc. crank was turned with chain off. Could it be the timing chain is off, if so how would I check with out pulling it apart again.

The marks on the gears for the chain were lined up. I dont know if it can be 180 off or somthing.

Got it going, it must have been the dist. Just started over with installing the dist and must of got it right.
