Question with pics

Hi,
could anybody say me where i should connect this open vacuum connection to ?

And what the h... is that for a "thing" ?

What part is this ? Is that the TPS ? And where is the part for my idle speed, because it´s much to high, it is about 2000 rpm...

Thanks Andy

I can't remember where the vacuum hose goes without looking on my truck, but the second picture looks like the pcv valve. The third shows the idle air control valve. Unplug that and see what your idle speed is - if it is still high, start looking for vacuum leaks. Check the TPS voltage too - the tps is on the bottom of the throttle body, down below the view of the third picture. It should be between .6V and 1V at closed throttle, with the key on, and measuring voltage between the green wire and the black wire on the tps.

It might be part of it, but I don't think that one line alone would cause it to idle at 2000. Try plugging it and see what happens. I think that is a line that goes to the hvac controls, but I'm not sure where it connects.

The first picture shows an emissions valve, that should be going to the charcoal canister, looking at my truck.

The second picture is the PCV valve, that sends "goo" into cylinder eight and gums that cyl up over time. I rerouted mine into the vacuum port and plugged the original hole on the intake, to spread the "goo" across all eight cylinders.

The third picture is the IAC valve, which is what your EEC computer (ECM) uses to control the idle, however its also opened almost all the way if you're driving, and push the pedal briskly to the floor. This is part of the EEC strategy on most of the trucks 91 and up. If the IAC is clogged, corroded, gummed up, it won't close alll the way and seriously affect your idle high or low depending how it got stuck. Start the truck, let it idle for a moment, then take off the IAC connector and see what happens. If the idle doesn't change at all, the problem is the IAC is stuck in an undesirable position. If the idle drops significantly, then the problem is something else, maybe the wiring, a missing ground to the EEC computer, the computer itself, the water temp sensor, the TPS sensor, etc.

Just watch the fan while you're yanking the wire off... it DOES hurt.

Thanks !

Ya, the fan can hurt

So i´m finished with the idle, i think a rpm about 700 - 800 should be ok ?
I checked the electrical connectors of the TSP and the IAC and what do i see, they are corroded. Now this is fine.
But now i can hear a kind of "knocking" out of the oil pan, or from the transmission, i can´t locate it exactly. hope this is not the crankshaft bearing...
