need wiring advice

I am trying to safely wire up some additional lights on my '97 F-150. Where is a good place to take power from without blowing fuses. I want to wire them up so they only have power with the parking lights. I'd like to tap power from the fuse block. I remember seeing a product that you could tap into a existing fuse. Anyone ever see this? Any suggestions?

I would just get a set of lights that comes with a wire harness. It would include a relay, switch and wiring.

I agree. A relay is the answer. Then you could power it off of the Battery. I installed an extra fuse box in my truck. Ran the power wire off the power dist. box. Just use it mainly for switches that are for relays.

I did this just a few months ago. I bought an fuse block from Advance Auto or Auto Zone. It is a 6 fuse block so I can add on more stuff if I want. I ran 8 ga wire from the battery to the fuse block. I pulled the parking light out and tapped into the 'minor' wire. Hooked everything into a relay.
