2000 F-150 odometer

My odometer (digital) is sometimes on and sometimes off. The dealer says he has never heard of this before. Has anyone out there ever had this problem with a 2000?

My 99 has been doing this sometimes lately. I have not taken ot in to the dealer yet beacuse it usually comes back on. I am not going to worry about it unless it stays off.
