I've only had my 4x4 3 weeks now and have twice experienced the following when running through standing water. The tach starts to oscilate and the truck starts to hesitate. I'm not running top speed through 2 feet of water, but didn't feel I need to slow down when running in a couple of inches of water. Any one else experience anything like this or have any idea what it could be.

Yesterday they were flushing hydrants and there was about 5 inches of water I drove through at about 25 mph. I experienced no such symptoms but I also stayed on the gas going though. Do you have any modified intake that might suck up some of the water?
I had a 93 thunderbird that would do the same thing--to the point of cutting off. Water was getting inside the distributor cap and shorting out the spark to some of the cylinders. I also had a frayed spark plug wire that I didn't know about and the same thing was happening there. The wire was close to block and the water would bridge the gap between the block and the wire allowing it to short.
No modifications so far on the truck, I thought I read awhile back on the forum about some type of electronics situated near the drivers side door on the bottom that was subject to water problems.

if you crawl under your truck and take a look there is a wiring harness that goes up thru the floor into the cab (under the drivers seat). i think that's what i saw when i did my step bars, or was it the e-brake cable, damn now i can't remember. anyway, if it is there you may want to make sure that everything is intact.
Thanks, I'll check it out. I remember some one commenting that after he pressure washed down his truck it wouldn't start and that's what made me ask if others hac=ve experienced this prblem.
