Question Gauges

Ok, I've been planning some mods for a 2000 F-250, This is kind of a dumb question....I think. Ok, it has the manual tranny, so I was thinking a boost gauge and a EGT gauge, but do i need a tranny temp gauge, if not, what else could I put in there because currently, I'm looking at 3 gauge pods that go on the "A" pillar. Thankshttps://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/newthread.php?do=newthread&f=31#

You don't really need a tranny temp gauge with the 6-speed, I don't run one on mine, but you could use one if you want to. If not you could just get a 2 gauge A-pillar pod. If you really want the 3 gauge you could also run a water temp, engine oil temp, or oil pressure gauge.

A tranny temp wouldn't hurt, it's just not as critical as it is on automatics. You can put a coolant temp gauge in there, or your oil pressure, since the idiot gauges on the dash don't give very good readouts of how it's fluctuating. I've got the three gauges, but I still would like a coolant temp and oil pressure, so I know exact numbers, not just the needle is in the normal range and will change when it's already too late.

Thanks, I might go with a coolant gauge, maybe a oil pressure, I still have plenty of time though, so I will have more time to consider, but keep ur ideas comin', I want to hear any opinion thats out there.

Just to reaffirm what I said, I just got back from a 1,000mi round trip from Iowa to Michigan for snowmobile races pulling a 6,000lb trailer. The pyro, tranny temp and turbo boost gauges are the best thing I've done to my truck! It sure is reassuring knowing how your truck is running. I'm even more convinced now that I want a coolant and oil pressure gauge. My engine fan was kicking on and off the whole time there, but my coolant temp gauge on the dash never moved, it was on the low side of being right in the middle of normal. Never saw it move once. Sure would like to know how hot the coolant was getting.
