Help with VIN for 1954

A "V" as the fourth character in the VIN means what size engine? Sources found so far say D = 215, 6 cyl and R = 239, 8 cyl. How about the V for a 1954 F100?

The decoder that I have shows the "V" to be a 239 OHV V8. The "R" code was the 239 for '53 and they changed it to "V" in '54.
